How often should I schedule a cleaning?
Terry's Coal and Wood Stoves advises yearly cleanings to prevent fires. Having your stove cleaned yearly will also prevent any wear and tear on your stove. The best time of year to clean your stove is in the offseason since this is the most popular time we can get pretty busy before the temperature start to drop.
What stove style works best in a basement?
The best source of heat for a finished basement in undeiably coal stoves, they have the highest BTU and will keep the basement toasty warm. Depending on the size of your finished area a wood stove may also work. Pellet and gas stoves do not have the BTUs required to adequately heat most basements.
